Another holiday season is over and a new year has begun! We had a low-key, cozy welcome to 2016 at home with Chris and Sean. (Well, low-key once two children, who were VERY excited to have their uncles visit, fell asleep.) I whipped up some appetizers, and we snacked and sipped our way through the night--I was very proud to make it to midnight!
Dad and Sharon arrived New Year's Day and we celebrated Christmas along with the New Year. And we had another very special reason to celebrate--officially welcoming Sharon into the Anderson family!!! That's right, Dad and Sharon tied the knot New Year's Eve. Congratulations again you two!
With plenty of helping hands at the house, Mark and I were able to sneak out on Saturday to see the new Star Wars movie. Mark and I hadn't been to a movie together since Lainey was five weeks old. It was awesome! Awesome movie, awesome to be out of the house without the kids, awesome to eat movie theater popcorn. Just awesome. Thanks again to everyone for hanging with the kids.
It makes me so happy how much our kids love being with their grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. They were honestly much more excited about seeing their family over the holidays than all the presents and sweets. Their little hearts were broken yesterday when everyone went home, and they're already asking when they will see everyone again.
Happy New Year to all! Let's make it a good one!
